About Our Classes & Camps

What to Expect

For nearly 30 years, Golden Boot has been setting the standard for positive, professional, perceptive training of young soccer players. We look forward to meeting you at one of our classes or camps soon! Wondering how things work? Please see the FAQ below, or contact us if you have additional questions.

  • How long are your classes?

Most classes are 60 minutes long. Our trainers divide the time into several different exercises and activities to keep players engaged and moving.

  • What should my player bring?

Special Info for Indoor Winter Programs

Players should wear sneakers or flat soccer shoes. NO CLEATS INDOORS, as we play on a smooth gym-floor surface.

    • Comfortable athletic clothing
    • Please leave slip-ons like Crocs and fancy dress-up shoes at home

    Special Info for Summer Camps

    • Players should start with a filled water bottle, but we will have refill stations with ice water available throughout the day.
    • Full-day campers should bring a packed lunch (no refrigeration available) and some easy, quick, healthy snacks (fruit, pretzels, cheese and crackers, etc.) to stay fueled throughout the day.
    • Full-day campers must BRING BOTH cleats AND sneakers /flat soccer shoes, as they will train both outdoors and indoors. Crocs and slides, while comfortable before and after camp, cannot be worn during training, as they do not provide enough support and protection for active feet.
    • Half-day campers do not need indoor shoes or lunch, but a morning snack is recommended.
    • A cooling towel (Chilly Pad brand or similar), or other wettable towel or bandana can help players feel more comfortable in summer weather.

  • Can/should parents stay?

For Lil' Boots classes and one-hour camps, we ask that a responsible adult remain on-site during the program. (Our half-day camps for ages 5-6 through Arlington County ONLY are the exception to this; parents may drop off for these.)

For ages 7+, we have an open-door policy. Parents are always welcome to stay and watch, but are equally welcome to drop off their player and pick them up when the program is over.

  • How are players grouped?

We initially group by age and playing level, using the information provided at registration. From there, trainers may use their best judgement in moving players around to ensure they are challenged appropriately.

Unless specifically noted, our groupings are co-ed.

  • Can I request a specific trainer?

For those interested in private sessions or custom groups, we welcome requests for particular trainers and try to honor them when scheduling permits.

For players in our scheduled programs, we can't guarantee you will have the same trainer from season to season. But we're confident you will have a great experiece will whoever you work with.
